Capt. Joe Vasquez
Guide and FFF Instructor

Joe has been guiding over thirty years. No guide has as much experience on as many waters as Joe.  During the year you can find


Joe on the Lower American, Lower Yuba, Lower Feather, Lower Sac the Klamath or guiding in Alaska. Joe prides himself foremost as a teacher and is a Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting Instructor.


Capt. Andy Guibord

Andy's 30+ years of employment at Kiene's Fly Shop combined with years of guiding and casting instruction (single and double hand techniques) has made him one of the most popular guides in northern California.  

Andy guides the lower American, Lower Feather, Lower Yuba and Delta.  A day with Andy is like attending a master class in fly fishing and your skills are guaranteed to improve. 


Capt. Bryce Tedford

Bryce has fished all over the world in both freshwater and saltwater environments. Since moving to California in  

2010 he's concentrated on fishing for Smallmouth & Large Mouth Bass and Striped Bass in the Delta. Bryce loves to educate his clients on the Delta's diverse fishery, and after spending a day with him you will come away with a depth of knowledge about  how to catch some of the largest and most challenging freshwater fish in the country.

Capt. Toby Uppinghouse

Toby has spent over twenty years in the fly tackle industry and has done everything from owning a fly shop to being a manufacturers sales rep

and also being one of the most successful fly fishing guides in California. Whether it be the, Lower American, Lower Yuba, Lower Feather, Delta or the Lower Sac he can get you into fish no matter what time of the year.

Liz in addition to owning (along with her husband Don), the Angler's Edge Fly Shop in Gardnerville NV, is one of the very few guides with permits to guide on the E Walker in Nevada.


Liz knows every inch of the river and excells as a teacher. She knows where the fish are no  matter what time of the year.

Capt. Ryan Williams

Ryan holds the distinction of being the first fly fisherman to win a major professional bass tournament.  He has also
been featured in national magazines. Specializing in the amazing bass fishery to be found in our foothill lakes he


guides our valley tailwaters too.  He is the only fly fishing guide on Clearlake which has been named by Bassmaster Magazine as the bass fishing lake of the decade.

Ethan Bush

Ethan grew up on the Lower American and the other valley tailwaters and knows the nook and crannies that other guides overlook. His goal is to ensure that you

come away from a day on the water satisfied that your knowledge of fly fishing has increased.  Ethan guides the L American, Feather River, and L Yuba River.


Zac Schmidt

Zac grew up in Kings Canyon fishing the technical freestone rivers of the Sierra Nevada. He cut his teeth guiding in Lake Clark and Katmai national parks in the
Bristol Bay region of Alaska. Zac loves teaching others the art of fly fishing, and getting others  

hooked on the sport. His favorite place to guide is Putah Creek, but you can also find him on many of the other valley tailwaters.

Andrew Foster

Andrew is our youngest guide but don't let that fool you as he was born a "fish head" and grew up fishing valley tailwaters.  Andrew currently spends his

summers guiding in Alaska and the rest of time guiding close by.  He  is one of our point men for Steelhead, Stripers and Shad

Capt. Patrick Mackenzie

If you want to fish for Stripers in the Napa River or Largemouth, Smallmouth and Spots in the foothill lakes, Patrick is your guy.  As a matter of

fact, Patrick is the only fly fishing guide on the Napa River.  The Napa is home seasonally to some of the largest Stripped Bass in California and they have a reputation of being some of the strongest fighting Stripers too, as they have spent very little of their time in freshwater. He is also the only fly fishing guide on Lake Berryessa which is ranked as one of the top ten Bass lakes in the USA.
Dan Le Count

Dan was born a fish-head cutting his teeth on local coastal creeks and in the Sierra.  He's one of

the most popular guides on the Truckee, Little Truckee and the other waters in the Truckee area.  He also offers float trips on the Lower Yuba for it's legendary trout.  


Richard Loft

Richard is one of the most unique guides in Northern CA  and is an expert on wade fishing Putah Creek  and the Lower American River for Shad.  No guide will work harder for you. Located in Napa CA he is our go to guide for clients who are vacationing in the wine country.

Mark Pinto

Mark grew up fishing the Delta and northern CA trout streams and has been guiding since 1984. He's very personable but very serious about getting his clients fish.
Mark is one of the most versatile guides in California as he is a master at fishing for Sripped Bass, Black Bass, Steelhead and Trout.

Jimmy Morales

Jimmy is our go to guide for the rivers and streams of Yosemite National Park and many other Sierra west slope waters.  After 29 years of guiding the western Sierra he knows every nook and cranny that holds fish.

Dave Barbieri

Experience combined with inherent skills made guiding a natural career choice. For Dave, passing on those skills, while fostering a love for fly fishing in others, is not just a dream job, it's a true pleasure.
From the novice angler to the seasoned fly-fisher, the excitement of being on the river and fighting that big catch is contagious to all.  Dave specializes in the Lower Yuba and Feather Rivers.   

Mat Squillante


Mat is a guide, fly tier and teacher. He guides you, helps you work on technique and shares knowledge and tips gained over many years spent on the water. He’s a

Clearwater Guide School graduate and excels as a teacher. He gives back to the fly fishing community through his volunteer work with Project Healing Waters, Our Heroes Dreams, Casting for Recovery and privately supports individual veterans who can benefit from a day on the water.  He's one of the most knowledgeable guides we know of who specializes on northeastern CA waters such as Lower & Upper Sac, Hat Creek, Pit River, Fall River, Yuba and Feather River. 

Mike Pease

Mike is a patient and skilled fly fishing instructor and guide.  Mike strives to make you a client for life while helping you hone your angling skills and serving all of your fly fishing needs.  Mike is a permited guide in the 

Plumas National Forest and will take you to hidden river gems like the Middle and North Forks of the Feather River along with Central Valley rivers including the Calaveras, Lower Yuba, Lower Sacramento, and the Lower American.

Otis Hein

Otis is a legend on the waters of the Mammoth Lakes CA area.  For over thirty years he's been guiding Hot Creek, Owens River, and Crowley Lake.

Brandon Harrell

passionate about river ecology and fostering a fun and inclusive fishing culture.  He especially loves rowing beginners and advanced anglers into an incredible experience on the water. Brandon Mathews

Brandon grew up on the Rogue River and has been guiding since he was in his teens.  Combining his engaging personality and his out of the envelope approach he will get you   

into lots of fish.  His specialty is the Rogue's famous Steelhead and it's world famous Salmonfly hatch on the upper river.  He can put together a mean lunch too.
