This Weeks Blog - 10/27/24
Temperatures in the Sierra have cooled down this week and fishing has improved. Valley tail waters are fishing quite well for half-pounder steelhead that have been following salmon. The upper section of the Lower American will close on Friday so read the AR page to learn all about it.  Feather river is loaded with Salmon and steelhead.  The egg bite is on!

If you happen to get out and fish this week, how about letting us know how you did on our California Fly Fishing Reports Group-Forum

About our weekly fishing reports . . .
As our original Kiene's reports were updated once a week, our new California Fly Fishing Reports page is updated continually. As soon as we receive a new vaifiable report on a particular water we now post it immediately.  Our reports are derived from both phone calls and the web pages of local guide and fly shop partners*. Whenever we are using one of those sources we always will give credit to the individual who contributed the information and we will also provide a link to their website.  Contrary to what some may believe, it's in the best interest of our partners to give an accurate report, whether it be either good or bad.  No guide or fly shop want's a potential customer to be misled as their credibility is most important when operating an outfitting business.

The date shown at the top of each page indicates the last time we added an update for that water.  Keep in mind that water flows that are shown on each page only reflect the flow on the day the report was edited, however if you scroll down  you will find a link for up to the minute conditions.

* We are indebted to our partners that include, The Fly Shop in Redding, Ted Fay Fly Shop, Trout Creek Outfitters, Angler's Edge Fly Shop, The Troutfitter and Todd @ Creekside Lodge for contributing to
our reports.  Guides who regularly contribute  are Joe Vasquez, Andy Guibord, Richard Loft, Otis Hein, Joe Garza, and others.  Note: if you are a guide or shop owner and would like to contribute (and receive a free link to your website) please call us or email your report. Make sure you email your website link too.
