Fishing Report (steelhead)-Poor:
Fishing for Steelhead won't begin until the sandbar at the mouth opens up and that won't happen until we get enough rain to raise the flows to over 400 CFS.  Because we're in an El Nino year, that may happen sooner or later. There is decent fishing for war water fish, however.

Quite a few of the younger fly fishermen are not aware that back in the day when we had normal precipitation year to year, the fishing on the Russian was so good that it attracted fishermen from around the world.  Let's keep our fingers crossed that the old days will return.
